House rules
These rules exist so that play is safe and enjoyable for every child, not to make anyone's life difficult. There are few of them and each has a reason. By entering Sandivers, you and the children you accompany accept them.
1. Who this applies to
These rules apply to everyone entering the Sandivers space, operated by MINIVERS BABY SRL at Strada Luminii, Valea Lupului, Iași county: children, parents, accompanying adults, party guests and visitors.
Our team has both the right and the duty to apply them. If a member of staff asks you to do something about safety, please do it there and then — we can discuss the reason straight after.
2. Entry and accompanying adults
- Every child enters accompanied by an adult (over 18) who stays on the premises for the whole visit.
- The accompanying adult is the parent, legal guardian, or someone they have designated, who takes on supervision.
- Entry is through reception, where we register the visit and any pass.
- We may limit the number of people in the space when it is busy, so that play stays safe.
- We may reserve the space in whole or in part for parties and events; we announce this in advance on the website and at reception.
3. Supervision of children
Children remain in the care of their accompanying adult at all times. Sandivers is not a nursery, kindergarten, after-school club or babysitting service, and does not provide supervision or childcare.
- Supervision means direct and continuous: you can see your child and reach them quickly.
- Do not leave your child unsupervised, not even for a few minutes, and do not leave them with someone you do not know.
- If you leave your table or step outside, take your child with you or explicitly ask another adult in your group to take over.
- With very young children, stay close by, within reach.
- Our staff look after the space, the sand, order and the workshops. They are there to help, but they do not take over supervision of your child.
- At parties, the adults in the celebrating group remain responsible for the invited children. We recommend agreeing up front who is watching whom.
4. Health and hygiene
- Please don't come if your child has a fever, a cough, a skin rash, conjunctivitis, diarrhoea, vomiting or a contagious illness. This isn't a formality — in a shared space, one cold reaches every child quickly.
- The same applies to adults.
- Washing hands before and after play makes a real difference. There's somewhere to do it.
- Nappy changing happens only in the area provided, not in the play area and not at the tables.
- If there's a hygiene accident in the sand, tell staff immediately. We clean and isolate the area; please don't try to deal with it yourself.
- The sand is cleaned and checked as part of the daily routine.
5. Rules in the sand area
- No throwing sand. It ends up in another child's eyes, mouth and hair.
- No covering or burying children, not even as a joke.
- No digging deep holes, and no digging underneath another child.
- Toys stay in the sand area. They don't come to the tables and they don't go home.
- Excavators and larger toys are shared by taking turns, and used only as intended — not climbed on unless they're built for it.
- No outdoor shoes in the sand area. Reception will tell you how to go in.
- No eating or drinking in the sand area. The tables are there for exactly that.
6. The area for the littlest
The safe area for the littlest exists so babies and children who are just starting to walk don't get mixed in with the bigger children's play. It only works if we all respect it:
- Older children don't run or play in the little ones' area.
- The adult with a very young child stays in the area, not at a distance.
- Staff may step in and ask an older child to move — that isn't a telling-off, it's safety.
7. Food and drink
- Food and drink are consumed at the tables, in the bar area or on the terrace — never in the play area.
- We don't bring or use glass containers in areas where children play.
- If your child has an allergy or a dietary restriction, tell us before you order. You can also record it in your child's profile in your account, but please tell us in person too — a conversation is safer than a field in an app.
- We cannot guarantee the absence of allergen traces in a shared preparation area. We'll tell you honestly what's in each product so you can decide.
8. Clothing and belongings
- Before play, take off necklaces, long earrings, scarves and hood drawstrings. They catch.
- No hard, sharp or glass toys of your own in the play area.
- Sand gets into pockets, long hair and shoes. That's normal and it shakes out — but we wouldn't recommend clothes you're precious about.
- Valuables stay with you. We are not liable for personal belongings lost, forgotten or damaged.
- We keep lost property at reception for a reasonable period. Just ask.
9. Behaviour
- We treat each other well. Physical or verbal aggression, towards children or staff, has no place here.
- No smoking anywhere in the space, including electronic devices. No alcohol or other substances.
- Don't enter under the influence of alcohol or drugs. You cannot supervise a child in that state.
- No running, pushing, or climbing on furniture or railings.
- Emergency exits and evacuation routes stay clear.
- If a disagreement between children escalates, the accompanying adults step in — not staff on their behalf.
10. Photography and filming
- You may photograph and film your own child.
- If other children appear in the frame, ask their parents before publishing anything. It's basic courtesy and also a legal obligation.
- Don't photograph staff without their agreement.
- If we want to use a photograph your child appears in, we ask for your explicit written consent first. We never assume it.
- Staff may ask you to stop filming if it's disturbing other visitors.
How we handle personal data, including images, is explained in our Privacy policy.
11. Incidents and emergencies
- Tell staff immediately if a child is hurt, if you spot something broken, or if a situation looks dangerous to you. Don't wait for us to notice.
- We record incidents so we can fix the cause.
- In a medical emergency, call 112. Staff will help as they can and direct the ambulance crew.
- In case of an alarm or evacuation, follow staff instructions and take your child with you.
12. Responsibility
What we take on
- Keeping the space, equipment, toys and sand in good and clean condition.
- Observing hygiene rules and the capacity of the space.
- Stepping in when we see a dangerous situation, and telling you.
- Behaving fairly and openly with you and your child.
What you take on, as the accompanying adult
- Continuous, direct supervision of the child you accompany.
- Compliance with these rules and with staff instructions, by you and by your child.
- Damage caused by your child to other people or to our property. Under art. 1372 of the Romanian Civil Code, the person with the duty to supervise a minor is liable for damage the minor causes.
- Telling us about any health issue relevant to your child's safety at play or at the table.
What we do not take on
- Incidents arising from failure to supervise a child, or from breach of these rules.
- Personal belongings lost, forgotten or damaged on the premises.
- The consequences of a health condition or allergy that was not disclosed to us.
- The ordinary risks inherent in active play — a graze, a trip, sand in the eyes — where the space and equipment were in proper condition.
These rules set out who does what. They do not release us from our own obligations, and they could not: under art. 1355 of the Romanian Civil Code, liability for one's own intentional or grossly negligent acts cannot be excluded, and liability for harm to physical integrity or health cannot be excluded or limited. If something happens through our fault, we answer for it.
13. If the rules aren't followed
We would always rather have a quiet word. But if a safety rule is broken repeatedly, or behaviour endangers or seriously disturbs other visitors, we may:
- ask for the behaviour to stop immediately;
- restrict access to a particular area;
- ask you to leave the premises;
- in serious or repeated cases, refuse entry in future.
Damage caused deliberately or through breach of these rules is recovered in accordance with the law.
14. Questions and complaints
If something here seems unfair, unclear or simply badly thought out, tell us — at reception or by email at receptie@sandivers.ro. These rules were written by people and can be improved.
The rules are displayed at the entrance and published here. We may update them; the last-updated date and version are at the top of this page.
